Dad's Day / Rachel's Birthday

I drove down to Poway on Father's Day to celebrate my amazing brother, Chad, father of 3.  We also celebrated Rachel's 5th birthday!!!  Here are the visuals for you:

Nana G.G. sent tap shoes to Ali and Sammy, because when she was 8 she got a pair of tap shoes that she just loved.  The girls loved theirs, too!
We had opened presents after we ate (which was a fabulous steak dinner, that Gina made.)  Then we at cake!

Nana G.G. had also sent crayons for the tub, which Rachel enjoyed that night in the bath.

I stayed the night.  We were going to go do something fun on Monday, Rachel's actual birthday, but she didn't feel so great (threw up several times) so we hung out at home and played with her cool zoo toy.

First Ever "Auntie N Nieces" Slumber Party

On Memorial Day weekend my fabulous nieces and I had a slumber party at the place I was house sitting.  Here are some pictures of our fun time!
We painted...

...and played...

... and ate (Chinese with chopsticks.)
We watched Anne of Green Gables, then went to bed.  Next morning we played in the garden...

... made cupcakes...
... and frosted them... (I made frosting from scratch - yay me!)

Then we made peanut butter and honey sandwiches to eat at a rest stop on the way home to Poway.  Of course, we had to show our paintings to Mommy and Daddy!

THE END.

Golden Jubilee

On August 14, 2010 "Nanny's Kids" got together to celebrate Carl and Glynda's 50th wedding anniversary (officially coming up on Sept. 3.)  We took the photo at the begining... then ate Ziti, toasted Carl & Glynda, told stories and shared memories of their 50 years (until it got dark out) then cut the cake!!!  Since a picture is worth a thousand words, please see my novel below.

Special thanks to everyone who jumped in and made this party so amazing!  Aunt Lyn and Uncle Bill for letting us gather at your home (again) and providing tables, chairs, tablecloths and napkins; Lisa for making the delicious and beautiful cakes; Lori for the center pieces and memory books; Gina for the ziti (you're the queen!!!); Uncle Bruce for being the best man 5 decades ago, and sticking around to tell about it; and Carl & Glynda for making it to 50 years!!!!  And to the rest of the family, thank you so much for coming and celebrating.  I love you all so much, and am so thankful that we're kin!
Love, Carla
